The Scribe Health Chrome Extension makes transferring your SOAP notes into your EHR faster and easier than ever. With just one click, you can insert structured medical notes—generated from audio or uploaded sessions—directly into your EHR fields like Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan.

This extension is especially helpful for providers using Practice Fusion, Athena, or any EHR with a web interface.

What Can the Chrome Extension Do?

  • ✅ Push notes directly into your EHR fields

  • ✅ Automatically map content to Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan (SOAP)

  • ✅ Save hours of manual copy-pasting

  • ✅ Improve consistency across documentation

  • ✅ Minimize transcription and note entry errors

How It Works

  1. Capture or Upload a Session
Record a live visit or upload a pre-recorded audio file using the Scribe Health web app.

  2. Review the Generated SOAP Note
Choose a template format (like Practice Fusion) and make any edits you need.

  3. Open Your EHR in a Web Tab
Navigate to your EHR and open the patient’s chart or “New Encounter” page.

  4. Launch the Scribe Extension

    • Click the Scribe icon in your Chrome toolbar.

    • Log in (if you haven’t already).

    • Select the note/session you want to insert.

  5. Click "Insert into EHR"
The extension will automatically populate your EHR’s SOAP fields with the corresponding content from the selected note.

📌 If you're using a custom template, your sections will still insert cleanly—based on how your template is structured.

Setup Instructions

1. Install the Extension

Download the Chrome Extension here

2. Log In

Use your Scribe Health credentials to sign in through the extension.

3. Open Your EHR

Make sure you’re logged into your EHR system in another tab before attempting to push content.

Compatible Systems

The extension works best with:

  • Practice Fusion

  • Athena

  • DrChrono

  • Kareo

  • eClinicalWorks

  • Any browser-based EHR where SOAP fields can be edited

Is It Secure?

Yes — the extension uses HIPAA-compliant secure protocols. No data is stored in the extension itself. All transmissions happen securely and are encrypted.

Pro Tips

  • Use a Practice Fusion-compatible template for cleaner layout insertion

  • Review your EHR's field formatting before inserting large blocks of text

  • You can still copy/paste individual sections if you only want to insert Assessment or Plan

Troubleshooting

Q: Why isn’t the note inserting?

  • Make sure you're on the correct EHR page (e.g., New Encounter screen)

  • Check that you're logged in to both Scribe and your EHR

  • Refresh both tabs and try again

Q: Can I insert only part of the note?

Yes — you can copy individual sections from Scribe Health if you prefer manual control.
